A small colony of humans lay in suspended animation on a faraway planet waiting for someone to resurrect their extinct race.
A group of sentient robots have spent two thousand years searching the galaxy for a compatible human race to restore their creators.
A faction of rogue robots watches nearby, prepared to destroy anything that gets in the way of their own evolution and dominance.
A 737 airliner full of passengers is suddenly transported across the galaxy.
And the four are about to meet in
The Last City.
A Note from the Author
It’s a magical experience to watch a story unfold as I write it. To be surprised at what a character will say or do, sometimes mak- ing me laugh out loud, or cry. To respectfully acquiesce when I’m reminded that I can’t make a character do something that is out of character. To abandon a chapter because it’s not as fun as it should be, and start over, exploring another tributary of imagination. A story has a flow that is best to flow with. My role is to follow it all the way to the ocean. When I sit down to write my novels, I instruct Big Casey to take a break, step aside, and let Little Casey lead. Little Casey has a gift for navigating story-rivers. With pre-cious naivete, he brings an unfettered imagination, passion, and joy to storytelling.
I hope you feel this as you read, and it brings as much joy to you as it has to me.

Asimov fans need to check this one out! Even the non Sci Fi readers should give it a read
If you are a fan of robot novels then you need to check out Mr McGinty's The Last City. Very few authors successfully extend the worlds of robots an AI with any sense of originality. Asimov gave us an unbelievably fantastic base and history of Robots and human interactions. McGinty takes a a new look at this interaction spanning thousands of years and the robot evolution driven by a sense of purpose. The book is a fast paced, can't set it down read. Asimov would love this angle on space travel, etc . Hands down the best "Non Asimov" robot novel I've read. I can't wait for the next one to be done. Read the first few pages and you'll know why.

Eagerly awaiting Book 2
A perfect sci-fi. Heros, humans, non-humans, robots and just enough humor. Adventure without gore, relationships without the saccharin. A "can't put it down" read.

The Last City
Never read science fiction before, but this story had easily likable characters, was very fast pace and full of action. Author threw in a few surprises that I never saw coming, but once revealed added a new level of complexity to the character development of the robots. Definitely, see the set up for the next story to pick up and run with.
Can't wait to see how this cast of characters do in the next installment.

Fascinating Story!
I loved this book. The author brought to life so vividly the characters and setting that sometimes I find myself wondering what they are all up to on Ahlemon. And since the book ends with an exciting cliff-hanger, I really hope he finishes the second installment soon! The storyline was fantastic, and I can't wait to see where it goes next. I'm cheering for the good guys - both human and robot!

Make this book a movie!
I met Mr McGinty at a music studio that belongs to a friend. He mentioned that he had retired to work on writing. It was definitely the best life choice! The Last City has everything a book needs to be a big screen movie! Humans, colonists and robots! A race facing extinction needs human DNA to regenerate. Cared for by robots for 2000 years, the story is compelling, exciting, and keeps you turning the pages. Best sci fi book I’ve read in forever! Well done.
